I spent the 4th of July on the banks of the Llano River (in the middle of the flooding areas). I watched the river rise 15 feet in less than 2 hours. I am simultaneously thankful that my family is safe and deeply saddened to hear about all the devastation and loss of life.
I have no idea what to write at a time like this. Hurts a lot.
I hope and pray you and yours are safe.

šļø Windy Point Park Closes, Eyes Hotel and Marina Future

The Gist: Windy Point Park on Lake Travis has officially closed as its owner seeks a new tenant to redevelop the site. The vision includes a hotel, marina, and possibly a new public park. No developers have signed on yet, but coordination with the LCRA is part of the long-term goal.
Why It Matters: A beloved lakeside spot since 1947, Windy Pointās closure marks the end of an era and could shape future lake access and tourism in the area. Read more here.

After a record-breaking week of rain in Central Texas, landscapes are soaking it all ināsometimes a little too literally. Lawns are growing fast, fungus risks are rising, mulch may have washed away, and trees could be feeling wobbly.
Itās a good moment to check for soil erosion and give your oaks a thoughtful summer trim. One oak in this weekās video went from stressed to stunning with steady care. Rainās a gift, but timing and attention make it count.
