Daylight savings, but for your weight—did you set your scale back ten pounds last Thursday night? I did. Mentally, at least.

I love Thanksgiving. But when the cold finally rolled in, something shifted. I struggle to admit it, but… it made me look forward to Christmas…and even Christmas music. And unexpectedly, I’ve already started thinking about goals and plans for next year. I usually don’t do that until after Christmas, when the sugar crash hits. But I’m enjoying the change in head space.

God bless you all. I’m thankful for Austin, for this community, for each of you, and for this little newsletter that somehow keeps growing.

The Gist: Rollingwood welcomed returning council members Brook Brown and Phil McDuffee, along with newcomer Kevin Schell, who filled the seat of outgoing member Alec Robinson. The council also reelected Sara Hutson as mayor pro tem. Members approved a $332,904 contract with Bennett Paving to complete milling and overlay work on sections of Hatley Drive, plus Wallis and Edgegrove Drives.

The updates keep local leadership steady while pushing needed street fixes forward. Always good to see the city keep its roads and representation in solid shape.
