Something about watching the entire world compete in things most of us can’t even attempt without medical supervision, it’s electric. I don’t care what the event is. If someone’s wearing USA across their chest, I’m in.

A couple fun questions I like to ask:
1. If you could magically be Olympic-level and compete in any winter sport, what would it be? (Ski jumping feels terrifying. Curling feels strategic. Hockey feels violent in a patriotic way.)
2. What isn’t in the Olympics that you’d love to see added?
Imagine Olympic dodgeball. The drama. The slow-motion replays. The controversy.

There’s something refreshing about watching people chase excellence for its own sake.

The Gist: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has opened its West Infill project at the Barbara Jordan Terminal. The four-level, 75,000+ square foot expansion adds a new TSA Checkpoint, extra ticketing counters, airline support space, and upgraded baggage handling. Art installations and sustainability upgrades are also part of the project.
