The popular Zilker Loop Shuttle is back this summer, starting Saturday, May 24, offering free, air-conditioned rides around Austin’s Zilker Park. Operating through Sunday, September 1, the shuttle provides a more convenient and traffic-friendly way to reach favorite destinations like Barton Springs Pool, Barton Creek, and the Zilker Playground—all without the parking hassle.
The shuttle departs from the Stratford Lot, running in a continuous loop on:
Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Selected holidays including:
Memorial Day (May 26)
Juneteenth (June 19)
Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day (September 1)
This free service is aimed at reducing weekend congestion and improving access for parkgoers looking to enjoy the area without worrying about parking availability.
While the shuttle is free and kid-friendly, there are a few things to keep in mind:
No pets or coolers are allowed on board
The first two hours of parking at the Stratford Lot are free when using a provided code
The shuttle is air-conditioned, providing a welcome break from the summer heat
The return of the shuttle is part of Austin's ongoing efforts to reduce car traffic and environmental impact at one of the city’s most popular green spaces. Whether you're heading to the pool, the trails, or a picnic under the pecan trees, the Zilker Loop Shuttle makes getting there a little easier—and a lot cooler.
