Why are we all so busy?
I think part of the problem is actually pretty simple: there are too many good things.
Good sports. Good schools. Good friends. Good church stuff. Good work opportunities. Good parties. Good causes.
And it’s hard to say no to good things.
We intentionally try not to have our kids in a million activities, and somehow we’re still darn busy.
I need to get better at saying no. And probably let my kids hear me say it more often too.
You don’t have to dislike something to decide you don’t have room for it.
That’s harder than it sounds.

🚫 Bee Cave keeps fiber off the streets
The Gist: At an Aug. 25 meeting, the Bee Cave City Council officially rejected Ordinance No. 616, shutting down plans for internet providers like AT&T and GFiber to install lines using micro-trenching. The technique involves cutting 3.5-inch trenches directly into neighborhood asphalt, leaving Mayor Kara King and council members concerned about permanent roadway damage.
Why It Matters: Telecom reps admitted they do not repair street damage after trenching, which meant local homeowners would end up footing the bill for future road repaving. Council Member Blake Sbrocco noted it simply isn't fair to ask residents to pay higher taxes for damaged streets just to get upgraded Wi-Fi.
