Gosh, all this World Cup stuff has been so fun. My favorite quote from all the folks visiting from overseas:

I have taken such great joy in seeing the United States celebrated during this World Cup. I am genuinely so thankful for our country.
🌳 Lakeway breaks ground on new community park
The Gist: Lakeway will break ground on Butler Rough Hollow Park on July 6. The $2.6 million project will include a playground, amphitheater, mountain bike course, sports field, ninja course, pavilion and more, with the park expected to open in summer 2027. Free native Texas tree saplings, cookies and refreshments will be available at the groundbreaking while supplies last.
Why It Matters: If you live nearby, this will eventually be another place to spend an afternoon without driving across town. Whether it's letting the kids loose on the playground, catching a community event at the amphitheater or getting in a bike ride, the new park is designed to give families plenty of reasons to head outside together!
🚧 West Lake Hills street repairs underway
The Gist: West Lake Hills' 2026 Street Maintenance Project is now underway, with crews repairing roads through crack sealing and new asphalt overlays. The nearly $1.7 million project is funded through the city's voter-approved street maintenance sales tax.
Why It Matters: If you've been driving around town this week, you've probably noticed construction crews and temporary traffic control. Expect occasional delays as work continues, but these repairs help keep neighborhood streets in better shape and can prevent bigger, more expensive fixes down the road.
