🏁 Formula 1 to stay in Austin through 2034

The Gist: A new agreement between Formula 1, Travis County, and the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) ensures the United States Grand Prix will continue racing in Austin through 2034. The deal also allows organizers to access state funding from the governor’s major events program, which supports tourism and event operations.
Why It Matters: Since 2012, the Grand Prix has drawn more than 430,000 fans annually, with nearly 70% visiting from out of state, and has generated over $10 billion in economic activity for Central Texas. The event continues to boost jobs, tourism, and Austin’s global profile. As locals, we can look forward to many more years of roaring engines, packed hotels, and world-class excitement right here in our own backyard!
