First, my birthday is in November, which obviously gives it an enormous advantage.

Second: football.

Third: Thanksgiving, which I said last year is better than Christmas, and I’m standing by it. Big holiday. Great food. Family. Football. But significantly less pressure. Nobody is frantically wondering whether Uncle Steve needs another sweater.

And then there’s the weather. November in Austin is about as good as it gets.
Cool mornings.
Comfortable afternoons.
Fires at night.
Football on the TV.
Thanksgiving coming.

Christmas people, I love you. Your month is coming.
But November wins.

🎓 Seven local families built a new school in under 100 days

When seven Four Points families couldn't find the right educational fit for their children, they decided to create one themselves!

In just 98 days, they launched Roosevelt Academy, a new school designed for students with diverse learning needs. Located at Marshall Ford Fellowship, the school focuses on smaller groups, flexible learning environments and meeting students where they are.

The families hope to eventually expand their vision to support individuals with disabilities well into adulthood.

🎓 Eanes ISD is mapping out plans through 2040

Eanes ISD is looking ahead to 2040, making plans for the future of its schools and students.

The district is working on two initiatives: a long-term strategic plan focused on the student experience and a separate committee reviewing potential school improvements and facility needs ahead of a possible 2027 bond election.

Both efforts will include community input and could help shape future learning opportunities, school facilities and major campus improvements.
