First edition of West Austin Scoop is here!
Plus, Pecan Street Festival coming to Bee Cave and some awesome events for the week!
Welcome to the West Austin Scoop!
Welcome to our inaugural West Austin Scoop newsletter. Thanks for being here. We promise not to spam you, and only send out one 'value-added' email a week.
Now, a little about me: I was born and raised in Central Austin. So yes, I say Burnet, Town Lake, and Cesar Chavez the right way. I moved to Southwest Austin in high school, married my high school sweetheart, served four years in the Marine Corps, and now wrangle four kids while running a local lawn and landscaping business.
Most days, I’m driving all over West Austin—keeping yards alive and eyes out for the best tacos. So I figured, why not share what I’m finding?
Thanks for reading. Forward it to a friend if you think they’d enjoy it. Or send me ideas on how to make it better.
So why the newsletter?

My goal is simple: be in the top 5% of emails you actually want to open.
Each issue will include a quick word from me, plus a roundup of hyperlocal, actually useful info like:
Local events and neighborhood happenings
Restaurants worth your money (from taco trucks to date night)
Landscaping tips for West Austin homeowners
Real estate tidbits and market insight
Anything else relevant to life west of Mopac
Absolutely no political rants—plenty of other places for that
We get national news every five minutes. But it’s your local area—your street, your schools, your weather—that usually shapes your day. That’s what this is about. Solving the local news shortage, one newsletter at a time.
—Cheers, Nolan
