The story behind the plate
Chef and owner Dzintra Dzenis brings an extraordinary journey to the kitchen. From her early life as a ballet dancer and actress to her Cordon Bleu training in Paris, her story is as rich as the dishes she creates. After two decades abroad, she made Austin home, transforming her small supper club into one of the area’s most celebrated dining destinations.
At PLATE, everything is made from scratch, every sauce, crust, and cream, using only fresh, sustainable ingredients. What arrives at your table is honest food, prepared with precision and passion. The open kitchen, framed by red and gold drapes, lets diners glimpse the artistry in motion, while the Chef’s Table offers an unforgettable front-row view.
