March. Already.

Every year it sneaks up on me.

One minute we’re in jackets. The next, everything is budding and acting like winter was just a suggestion.

Spring is my favorite. It’s chaos for us—in a good way. Schedules fill up. Projects wake up. The whole city feels like it hit the caffeine a little early.

But I love watching it happen.

Plants coming back. Birds louder in the mornings. Even the squirrels seem more confident.

Mosquitoes can sit this season out. They can all die. Every last one.

The rest of it? I’ll take all of it.

Cheers,
Nolan

💡 Lakeway to Allow Full-Color Business Signs

The Gist: Lakeway City Council approved a new sign ordinance on Feb. 17, allowing full-color building signs with logos up to 24 square feet for commercially zoned properties. The ordinance also increases the maximum size for commercial real estate signs along RM 620/Hwy. 71 from 12 to 24 square feet in earth tones.

Why It Matters: The change aims to increase visibility for businesses and support the local economy while balancing resident input. Code officials can now approve most new signs, with Zoning and Planning Commission review only required for variances. The colorful signs make the city feel more vibrant and welcoming, giving small businesses a better chance to stand out and thrive.
