Itโ€™s hot this week. Hopefully just a spikeโ€”like that one friend who overreacts and then calms down by the weekend.

May is confusing. Sometimes I love it: green trees, late sunsets, mild evenings. And other times, it drives me nuts. Why do schools cram every field day, awards ceremony, talent show, and โ€œmandatory optional parent gatheringโ€ into a three-week stretch?

Also, side note: Who decided outdoor events in Texas at 2 p.m. in May were a good idea? Thatโ€™s not springtimeโ€”thatโ€™s preseason for heatstroke.

Anyway, stay hydrated. And if you see me squinting at a Google Calendar invite while standing in full sunโ€”just wave. Iโ€™m probably at the wrong event.

Cheers,
Nolan
