Bee Cave Voters Approve New Public Safety Building for City Center

Facility will house police, fire, and EMS services in one central location

The City of Bee Cave is moving forward with a new Public Safety Building after voters approved a bond proposal in the May 4, 2024 election. The project will bring all of the city’s emergency services—including police, fire, and EMS—under one roof for the first time.

Centralized Safety Hub Near City Hall

The new Public Safety Building will be located at the corner of Bee Cave Parkway and Main Street, next to Bee Cave City Hall. This central location is designed to improve emergency response times and coordination between departments.

City leaders emphasized that the facility will serve both current and future needs as Bee Cave continues to grow.

Funded by Voter-Approved Bond

The $36 million bond passed with more than 60% voter approval. City officials noted that the measure was crafted to avoid increasing the city’s property tax rate.

Funding will cover land acquisition, construction, and necessary infrastructure. The city has indicated that design and planning will begin soon, with more public input opportunities to come.

Enhanced Services for a Growing Community

Currently, Bee Cave’s emergency services operate out of separate buildings or rely on nearby agencies. The new facility aims to streamline operations, improve safety outcomes, and provide space for expanded services as demand increases.

Officials also highlighted the benefit of having a visible, accessible public safety presence in the heart of the community. Learn more here.
